{"id":118,"date":"2019-03-04T06:00:18","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T06:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shelteredingrace.com\/?p=118"},"modified":"2019-03-05T23:06:59","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T23:06:59","slug":"anchored-with-hope-during-the-storms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shelteredingrace.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/04\/anchored-with-hope-during-the-storms\/","title":{"rendered":"Anchored with Hope During the Storms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We are on a journey here on earth.\u00a0 This journey will have its mountain highs and valleys low&#8230;trials&#8230;tribulations&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It will have calm.\u00a0 It will have storms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some storms we have will be self-imposed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some storms will be there when we are doing what we have been directed to do.\u00a0 When we read through Matthew 14:22-30, we see that the disciples meet a storm AFTER being told to get in the boat ahead of their Master (Jesus) so He could pray.\u00a0 John&#8217;s account actually tells us there was a violent wind accompanied with rain&#8230;and how did they react?\u00a0 How did they feel?\u00a0 They were scared.\u00a0 They were paralyzed with fear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We have little control over our environment and there are a lot of things we cannot change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When that happens, we have to DEPEND on the unwavering character of God, building on the promises He has given us.\u00a0 We have to be anchored to Him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Hebrews 6:19-20 states, <em>&#8220;This <strong>hope<\/strong> we have as an <strong>anchor<\/strong> of the <strong>soul<\/strong>, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek..&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Three words stand out here.\u00a0 Hope.\u00a0 Anchor.\u00a0 Soul&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>SOUL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You and I are a valuable vessel.\u00a0 We have a soul that separates us from ever other living thing.\u00a0 The soul unites me to God and it needs an anchor.\u00a0 It is fragile and it feels pain.\u00a0 It needs a hooking point sturdier than any storm we may encounter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This soul needs hope&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>HOPE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This particular word has two definitions; trust and expectation.\u00a0 David said it in Psalm 39:7..<em>.&#8221;And now Lord, what do I wait for?\u00a0 My hope is in you.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0 He relied on AND expected God to keep His promises.\u00a0 We need to have that same trust and expectation.\u00a0 This gives us hope.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And our anchor is this HOPE, this trust and expectation in God.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>ANCHOR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It can&#8217;t be &#8220;anchored&#8221; on anything earthly&#8211;a person or possession.\u00a0 It has to be set on the THRONE itself.\u00a0 If we are anchored here, that anchor will never break. Will the opponent try and trip us up?\u00a0 YES!\u00a0 Satan will use his tactics to try and break us.\u00a0 But, the victory has already been won.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Trust in the winning team.\u00a0 Trust and have expectation in His Promises.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>He will never forsake you\u00a0 (Deut. 31:6, Hebrews 13:5)<\/li>\n<li>He loves Us\u00a0 (1 John 4:10)<\/li>\n<li>He will judge justly\u00a0 (1 Peter 2:23)<\/li>\n<li>Nothing is impossible\u00a0 (Luke 1:37)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Life isn&#8217;t easy here on earth.\u00a0 We will face trials and tribulations.\u00a0 But you, a valuable vessel to God, have been given promises that can be trusted.\u00a0 You can have expectations in God because He will never fail you or leave you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Be anchored to Him and His throne of grace.<\/p>\n<p>Anchored to grace,<\/p>\n<p>Leigh Ann<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are on a journey here on earth.\u00a0 This journey will have its mountain highs and valleys low&#8230;trials&#8230;tribulations&#8230; It will have calm.\u00a0 It will have storms.
